Copy editing is a thorough review of a translation or an original text to check that it is suitable for its purpose, complies with language conventions in the relevant field and does not contain any spelling or grammatical errors.

Your proofs will generally benefit from a final check before they are published. If your text is in a foreign language, you will often require professional help to find any word-division errors, missing text etc., but proofreading may also be useful before you publish documents in your own language.
The copy editor goes through the text and ensures that the language flows well, corrects any errors and ensures the proper and correct use of words and terminology.
The copy editor carries out the review in Microsoft Word using the Track Changes feature, making it easy for the client to consider each individual suggestion. When necessary, we will contact the client during the copy-editing process to clarify any ambiguities in the text or to determine preferred terminology.
